Freight Forwarding for Machinery & Heavy Equipment
Engineered for complex industrial plants, turnkey project cargo, and oversized machinery. Flat-Rack, Open-Top, marine lashing certifications, and zero-duty EPCG customs clearance.
Heavy-Lift & Industrial Machinery Shipping to Delhi NCR
Importing heavy industrial equipment—such as CNC milling machines, injection molding units, extrusion lines, automated packaging plants, and printing presses—requires engineering-level logistics planning. Because heavy equipment often exceeds standard container dimensions (Out-of-Gauge / OOG) and weight limits, standard shipping methods are inadequate.
At Fourways Logistics, our specialized project cargo team has managed heavy engineering logistics since 1996. We coordinate the entire chain: securing specialized Flat-Rack and Open-Top container allocations with ocean carriers, executing certified marine lashing, navigating CONCOR rail movement into Delhi dry ports, and handling concessional customs clearance under the DGFT EPCG Scheme.
Flat-Rack & Open-Top
Specialized container equipment for oversized height and width, complete with heavy-duty lashing and seaworthy tarping.
EPCG Scheme Clearance
In-house licensed CHA handling zero-duty capital goods clearance, bank guarantee execution, and DGFT license compliance.
Multi-Axle Road Transit
Low-bed and semi-low-bed hydraulic trailers capable of moving up to 100+ metric ton single-piece machinery safely to factory foundations.
Turnkey Machinery Logistics Protocol
- Technical Pre-Assessment: We review engineering CAD drawings, center of gravity (CoG), lifting points, and dimensional data to determine whether cargo moves via Flat-Rack, Open-Top, or Breakbulk vessel.
- Marine Surveyor Lashing & Choking: Certified rigging teams secure machinery to container beds using high-tensile steel chains, wire ropes, and timber dunnage, backed by official surveyor lashing certificates.
- Port-to-Dry-Port Rail Transfer: Seamless coordination with CONCOR and port terminals (BMCT, JNPT, Mundra) for specialized OOG rail rake movement to ICD Tughlakabad or ICD Dadri.
- Customs Assessment & Foundation Delivery: In-house CHA team manages customs examination and duty processing, while hydraulic cranes position the machinery directly onto your plant floor.

Machinery Freight Forwarding FAQ
What is Out of Gauge (OOG) cargo in machinery shipping?
Out of Gauge (OOG) cargo refers to freight whose dimensions exceed the internal length, width, or height of standard ISO shipping containers. OOG cargo is transported on specialized Flat-Rack or Open-Top containers where surrounding container slots are blocked on the vessel.
Can Fourways handle second-hand or refurbished machinery imports?
Yes. Second-hand machinery imports into India require Chartered Engineer Inspection Certificates (CEIC) from the origin country verifying residual machinery life and market value. Our team reviews CEIC documentation to prevent customs valuation disputes.
How long in advance should we plan heavy project cargo shipments?
We recommend initiating planning 3 to 4 weeks prior to readiness to finalize carrier space booking, special container equipment repositioning, and road transit permissions.
